Kyambura Lion Monitoring Team Making Progress during the 2025 Carnivore Survey in Queen Elizabeth National Park

The Kyambura Lion Monitoring team continues to make strong progress during the 2025 carnivore survey in Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Having covered more than 8,000 kilometres across challenging terrain and now working in Ishasha sector, the team has recorded over 110 detections and identified 29 individual animals.

In the coming days, the team will camp in some of the park’s most remote areas, observing rarely seen wildlife and continuing to deepen their understanding of lions in these areas.

The Kyambura Lion Monitoring Project supports the critical conservation work of Uganda Wildlife Authority and works in collaboration with conservation partners including Denver Zoo Conservation Alliance, Lion Recovery Fund, and Adventure Travel Conservation Fund.
